Shoshana Farber

WHNP

Shoshana Farber (she/her/hers) is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and certified Sexuality Educator. She specializes in sexual and reproductive health care for all genders. Working with multidisciplinary teams at public health departments, reproductive health centers, and primary care offices. Shoshana creates a space where it is safe and patients are encouraged to talk about what we don’t usually talk about — sexuality, gender, family planning, menopause, and beyond. She loves talking about birth control and will happily share why birth control pills are like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Shoshana began serving the community more than 15 years ago as a medical assistant at reproductive health centers in the Portland, OR area. She continued her education, becoming a certified sexuality educator through Planned Parenthood University, and graduating as a nurse practitioner from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. As a Nurse Corps scholarship recipient, she served at safety-net health centers in California and Central Oregon before returning home to Portland and joining the team at A Woman’s Time and SW Family Physicians.

Shoshana strives to be of service to clients and colleagues. Her practice is grounded in the principles of cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and the BIPOC-led movement for reproductive justice.
